The new plug-in developed by sixData GmbH for Quantum GIS 2.0 (QGIS) provides a bi-directional interface between luxData and the open-source user-friendly Geographic Information System (GIS). QGIS is a powerful GIS that is being continuously developed by its large community. It runs under the most popular operating systems and supports a broad range of vector, grid and database formats. Its intuitive user interface and the large number of functions that are extensible with the help of plug-ins has helped it become firmly established in the geo-information sector. In conjunction with luxData, the QGIS plug-in simplifies the management and processing of location information relating to recorded systems or systems being entered for the first time. QGIS also provides users with an extensive geographic information system that allows the analysis and subsequent visualisation of geospatial data.
