Cooperation between sixData GmbH and IFB Berufsfachschule Rosenheim

Finally done! You have successfully completed your training and the world seems to be open to you with numerous opportunities. The IFB vocational college in Rosenheim offers all IT and "software-savvy" graduates the best possible option to start a career in small and medium-sized companies, as well as internationally active companies.

sixData GmbH is an internationally active IT and service company whose history began over 20 years ago, in 2002. Armin Mühlberger, Managing Director of sixData, started building up the software company sixData GmbH with a lot of motivation and new ideas after completing his full-time studies as an IT assistant at the IFB. During the establishment of sixData GmbH on the market and the permanent development and expansion of the luxData software, Armin Mühlberger increasingly drew on the existing basic knowledge of the wide-ranging training at IFB. Contents such as software development, network technology, accounting, presentation technology and organization gave him the necessary knowledge base for his task as managing director to found sixData GmbH.

Six people and one common goal: to build a successful IT and service company specializing in the development of management information systems for street lighting. Motivated and driven by many visions, they ventured into the unknown. With the implementation of new, innovative ideas that are geared towards the needs of the customers, as well as the basic knowledge from street lighting, they benefited from a "niche segment" right from the start. With the highest quality standards and consistent reliability in product and customer service as well as the development of a strong core brand, they focused on achieving their goals. With success!

Just four years later, the luxData software gained a foothold as the market leader in the street and outdoor lighting sector. The name sixData developed a personality. Security and consistency characterize the corporate image, which is also reflected in the logo and corporate design of sixData GmbH. A striking "blue" represents its values: reliability, trust and authority. These values are also reflected in the customer service. With its own server farm, sixData offers its customers a secure platform for using the solutions as Software as a Service (SaaS). With luxData®, customers have a tool at their fingertips that provides them with targeted information about their street lighting at the right time. Are there any problems with the introduction of luxData or do you need help with the implementation? The support team, consisting of qualified and specialist contacts, is always on hand to provide assistance.

Scott J. Kelly once said: "If we have a goal and a plan and are willing to take risks and make mistakes and work as a team, we can decide to tackle the big challenges." It is not only consumer behavior that is undergoing major changes; technologies are also changing at an accelerated pace. The trend is moving towards openness and flexibility as well as ease and adaptability. And so is sixData with luxData!

In addition to solutions for mobile devices (luxData.mobileApp), web-based portals (luxData.web), interfaces to SAP, control systems (luxData.control) and all common GIS systems, the portfolio now also includes software solutions for traffic light systems (luxData.lsa) and traffic signs (luxData.vz). A "core project" of sixData is the simple management tool luxData.easy, which has helped many smaller municipalities to record and digitize their data since 2022. In larger companies, luxData.easy is used as a "tool" for recording data in order to visually and tabularly document other public objects in addition to street lighting. luxData.easy has established itself as an alternative "documentation tool" thanks to its easy-to-understand introduction. A connection to the fault reporting portal "stoerung24" is mandatory for managing faults. stoerung24 is now used by more than 3,000 local authorities and energy supply companies for 8,000 locations. It is freely available on the network and covers the "DACH" regions.

In order to be able to offer customers a specific and stimulating portfolio and guarantee a flawless service, sixData always relies on trained and expert staff. Inspired by the broad range of training offered by IFB, sixData GmbH has repeatedly employed graduates of the full-time IT assistant course over the years and also offered internships to active students. sixData GmbH appreciates the wide-ranging and high-quality training provided by IFB. sixData GmbH currently employs 30 people. Six employees have completed an apprenticeship at IFB. Two interns from IFB are currently deepening their practical knowledge in the areas of software development and IT administration. "During my mandatory internship at sixData during my studies, I was able to get a taste of two major areas (hardware/software) of IT. I found it particularly exciting to be assigned my own project, which I was able to help shape from start to finish during my internship. The resulting mini-job gave me a good opportunity to gain an initial overview of the company's products (even a little during the internship) and the exceptional working atmosphere. I am particularly pleased that I was offered a permanent position as a software developer at sixData GmbH from September 2023," says Max, an IFB graduate.

sixData GmbH will continue to keep all doors open for trainees and graduates in the future and is pleased about the steady increase in motivated and inquisitive employees. The individual promotion of strengths as well as the wishes and needs of employees are the top priority for sixData as an employer. A good balance between promotion and self-determination as well as home office opportunities serve as motivators and are highly valued by employees. sixData was presented by kununu as a best practice example for employers in Bavaria with 100% recommendation.
